His journey to this position has been marked by dedication, rigorous education, and the invaluable support of AAPS. Read on to learn more about Henry and his fascinating journey.

The Educational Foundation

Before joining AAPS, Henry completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Toronto. Despite this solid academic background, he needed more practical experience to secure a job in the pharmaceutical industry. “I lacked the necessary experience needed to land a job in the pharmaceutical industry,” Henry recalls.

Determined to bridge this gap, Henry enrolled in the clinical research, drug safety, and pharmacovigilance program at AAPS. This program provided him with a deeper understanding of essential industry areas. “AAPS helped me bridge that gap in knowledge through courses that gave me a better understanding of clinical research and drug development,” he explains.

The AAPS Support Framework

One of Henry’s most transformative experiences at AAPS was working with the Career Services department. This team was instrumental in helping him secure an internship at BioPharma Services

Henry gained invaluable hands-on experience during his internship, working closely with industry professionals and learning the intricacies of lab quality control and report writing. This real-world experience was critical in honing his skills and building his confidence. The instructors were knowledgeable and deeply invested in their students’ success. Their guidance was crucial in preparing him for the job market and ensuring he had the skills and confidence to excel.

The support Henry received from AAPS extended beyond the classroom. “Throughout this process from classroom to job interview, the AAPS team supported me,” Henry notes. “It provided me with invaluable industry experience,” Henry says. “I was able to secure a full-time position a few months after graduating.”

It paved the way for him to secure a full-time position at BioPharma Services just a few months after completing his clinical research training. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without their expertise,” he admits.
