The Food Service Worker delivers quality nutrition care and service in an environment such as hospitals, institutions, special-care and long term care facilities. The program will provide students with the skills and abilities required to perform effectively in institutional food preparation settings. Customer service, safe food-handling techniques, safety, nutrition, communications, food and beverage preparation and service are covered under this certificate program.
This program is mandated by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for all staff employed in the position of food service worker in long-term care dietary environments.

Practical Placement:
There will be an arranged work experience field placement in a Food Service or a Healthcare Facility. The work placement allow you to gain hands-on experience in a real world work environment in the field of study. Additionally the practical placement provides you with the networking opportunity to further enhance the employment opportunity.
